Old school chairs.

We like to kick it old school here in this dear little house (haha, see what I did there? Punny!), and as such we occasionally sit on these (literally) old school chairs.

Old school chairs
They are tough and built to last with good clean lines and a 'go with anything' colour scheme. But the most handy thing about these chairs is that they are stackable. They can stack up in the corner of a space or up against a wall until you have enough people over to need them!

I literally pulled them out of the school's garbage pile, chucked them in the back of the van and brought them home. Michael was none too pleased at the time because they were covered in crap (subsequently traipsed through the house) and they smelled a bit funny. Not to worry, a bit of a rub down with warm soapy water, a spritz of vinegar for the weird musty smell, and a little orange oil later, now they are his favourite chairs in the house.

Mine actually sit by the bookshelf and hold a few books/mags that I'm currently reading, making them a handy item as well as a decorative one. As an added bonus, some of them actually have room numbers stencilled on to the back and if you look carefully there's a lewd bit of graffiti on one of them! Comfy and free, that's what I like to hear!

  1. Some brides, in an attempt to get their theme across to the guests overdo the decorations which means that if a bride had a Disney princess theme, she probably has wedding china that's actually kids' party plates. Themes should never be over whelming, the thing is finding a subtle way to get your concept across. Event managers get paid big time because they're able to pull it off without overdoing it
