A wall, for real this time!

Today the timber framing for downstairs was completed, the base for the floor for upstairs was done, and the brickwork was started. Big day! John, one of our builders, told me this morning that if the weather holds out we should have a roof in under a month!

The first brickwork for an actual wall
I spoke to Dino, our bricklayer, who teased me last week for being excited about the timber framing 'walls' being done. Today he told me that I could be excited now because he has started the real walls. If you look you can see one of the gaps for the gorgeous floor to ceiling windows that will be incorporated throughout the extension.

The progress thus far
As of today they will be able to start on the framing for the second story, and before you know it we will have the structure for our dear little house complete! Of course, I've probably just jinxed it by mentioning that I want the weather to hold out and that all is going well so far, but that's a risk I'm willing to take. Very excited!
